Biography

Originally trained at the Conservatory of Music of Valencia, Cuarteto Nel Cuore was the first Spanish quartet admitted to the prestigious Accademia W. Stauffer di Cremona (Italy), where they studied with the Quartetto di Cremona. They were later admitted to the String Quartet Department of the International Institute of Chamber Music of Madrid (Escuela Superior Reina Sofía), where they studied with Professor Günter Pichler, violinist of the Alban Berg Quartett.

 

Cuarteto Nel Cuore has performed in some of the most prestigious concert halls and festivals in Spain, including the National Auditorium of Music, Fundación Juan March, Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía in Valencia, the “Fundación Monteleón” International Chamber Music Festival, Sociedad Filarmónica de Pontevedra, Sociedad Filarmónica de Segovia, the Spanish Music Festival of Cádiz, ENSEMS Festival, Otoño Musical Soriano, among many others.

They have also performed in various venues and festivals in Italy, such as Palazzo Chigi in Siena, Teatro A. Ponchielli in Cremona, Teatro Bozzo in Bogliasco, and Palazzo Biscari in Catania, among others.

 

They are prizewinners of several national chamber music competitions. They were winners of the FestClásica Circuits 2017 and semifinalists at the Concorso Internazionale Salieri-Zinetti in Verona.

 

They have performed alongside musicians such as José María Gallardo del Rey, Juan Barahona, Francesco de Zan, Daniel Fuster, Christian Lavernier, and Josep Casanova, among others.

 

With a strong interest in contemporary music, they have premiered works such as Quinteto de San Carlos—composed for the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Carlos—for guitar and orchestra by J. M. Gallardo del Rey; Suite de Jazz for string quartet by Eduardo Montesinos—dedicated to Cuarteto Nel Cuore; and the quartet Influences by Joaquín Arias Botías—also dedicated to the ensemble.

 

Since 2022, they have had the honor of serving as Quartet-in-Residence at the Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Carlos
